About Faroe Islands
The Faroes are 18 volcanic islands in the North Atlantic between Iceland and Norway. Jagged basalt cliffs plunge thousands of meters to roiling seas. Waterfalls cascade from cliff tops. Puffins nest on the tundra slopes. Villages cling to tiny harbors, connected by undersea tunnels. The landscape is unforgiving but addictively beautiful. The weather changes hourly. This is hiking and nature photography at their most dramatic.
