About Luang Namtha
Luang Namtha sits in northern Laos, gateway to Nam Ha National Protected Area. The region is home to multiple ethnic minority groups — Akha, Lisu, Hmong — maintaining traditional ways. Multi-day jungle treks lead to minority villages for authentic cultural encounters. The jungle itself teems with birds and wildlife. This is off-the-beaten-path Laos, where mass tourism hasn't yet arrived. Treks are challenging but rewarding.
