About Madagascar
Madagascar broke away from Africa 88 million years ago, evolving a unique ecosystem. Lemurs swing through forests, unable to exist elsewhere. Chameleons, fossas, baobabs, and orchids evolved in isolation. The culture blends African, Arab, and Southeast Asian influences. Rainforests in the northeast, spiny forests in the southwest, and Avenue of the Baobabs offer dramatically different experiences. This is nature tourism at its most authentic.
