About Plitvice Lakes
Plitvice Lakes National Park is a natural wonder where 16 lakes cascade in tiers, connected by 92 waterfalls. Boardwalks wind through dense beech and spruce forests, offering constant views of crystalline turquoise waters. The geological process creating the lakes — calcium carbonate deposits forming barriers — continues today, making Plitvice a living, changing landscape. Autumn colors reflecting in calm waters create postcard scenes.
